My name is Kristina Alvendal and I am Vice Mayor of Stockholm since the election 2006. My responsibilities are within City planning and Real Estate. I am also chairman of the Stockholm Police Board and a member of the Committee of the Regions in the EU.

Here you can read a bit of my thoughts and why I am involved in politics. A lot of the information is not translated into English. Therefore I invite you to contact me with questions, ideas and your thoughts. That would be done easily by e-mail:

There are lots to do.

Sweden is doing well and this is good to see - but still far to many adults have no job to go to. Sick people still have to queue to get care. Swedish pupils do not learn enough in school. Many people dare not go out after dark.

Sweden has changed, as the rest of the world, and Moderaterna has developed to resolve the problems facing modern society. I want to put work before benefits by reducing tax, mostly for those who are earning the least. I also want to reinstate welfare by putting education and health services before the benefits system. And I think that we should, once and for all, take up the battle against criminality. The goal must be to make life in Sweden better. For everybody.
